The charging pile has super strong waterproof ability!

Each ev charging pile will have a protection level. The first digit after IP is the dustproof level, and the second digit is the waterproof level. The larger the number, the higher the protection level.

IP54 is the industry-defined protection level standard for charging piles, which requires that all charging piles have protection performance of at least this level. This standard ensures that the charging pile can effectively prevent dust from intruding, so as not to affect the normal operation of its internal motor. In addition, the IP54 standard also requires that the charging pile can withstand low-pressure water spray for 3 minutes and be protected against vertically falling water droplets, which means that even on rainy days, the charging pile can effectively protect the motor and ensure its safe use.

Champion's ev chargers all meet the standards set by the industry, and some models have a protection level as high as IP67. The key component of the charging pile, the charging interface, ensures excellent waterproof and sealing performance through the use of rubber sealing rings and water holes. Such a design can effectively prevent rainwater from seeping in even on rainy days, ensuring the safety of vehicles being charged.

During the construction of charging facilities, ground hardening and foundation protection measures are usually implemented at the bottom of the charging facilities to ensure that the 20 to 30 cm part of the bottom of the charging pile can withstand flooding. In addition, design elements such as charging notches, insulators, and monitoring ports have been carefully planned to strengthen electrical protection to ensure that charging safety accidents such as short circuits will not occur even in flooding.

Charging stations are available all over the world, so we are not afraid of extreme environments!

After years of operation, Champion's charging piles have performed well in harsh environments such as extreme cold, extreme heat, extreme humidity, and extreme salinity.

For example, in high-altitude areas, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and they often face extremely hot or cold weather; in high-latitude areas, it is extremely cold all year round, with frequent rain and snow; and in Southeast Asia, the climate is hot all year round, with high humidity and salinity. In these places, Champion's charging piles have been operating stably for many years, providing safe and intelligent charging services for local new energy vehicle owners.

Five steps to remember when charging

Step 1: Pull out the gun with an umbrella

Always keep an umbrella in the car for use when charging on rainy days, so that you can avoid getting wet when getting out of the car. After unplugging the charging gun from the charging pile, you should first check whether the gun head is intact and check whether there is water or foreign matter inside. If a small amount of water droplets are found on the gun head, just shake it twice to remove it.

The purpose of this step is to prevent the safety hazards caused by water entering the charging gun head due to improper operation of the previous owner. When charging on rainy days, in order to ensure safety, please always use an umbrella to prevent important parts such as the charging gun and charging port from being directly wet by rain.

Step 2: Confirm that the gun head is connected correctly

After confirming that there is no problem with the charging gun, please open the protective cover of the vehicle charging port first, and then insert the charging gun. When you hear a "ka", it means that the charging gun and the charging port have been correctly connected. At this time, they will form a sealed connection, and the owner can rest assured without worrying about water ingress.

Step 3: Check whether the ev charging pile is working properly

After the ev charging gun is correctly inserted, start the charging process. At this time, you need to observe the control screen of the charging pile to confirm whether it shows that charging has started. If the charging status is not displayed on the screen, please check whether it cannot be charged normally due to poor contact. If it is due to a connection problem, just gently unplug and reinsert the charging gun to solve the problem.

Step 4: Cover the charging port as soon as possible after unplugging the gun

After charging is completed, first end the charging program on the charging pile, and then carefully unplug the charging gun from the vehicle. While unplugging the charging gun, immediately close the two protective covers of the vehicle charging port to ensure the safety of the charging port.

Step 5: Put the charging gun plug back in place

Put the charging gun plug back in place, and be careful to prevent rain from splashing into the gun head to facilitate the next owner to charge.
